Fabienne is a specialist media and defamation law lawyer. She was admitted to practice in Western Australia in 1999, and undertook her first defamation case before the Supreme Court of Western Australian in 2002 (as instructing solicitor before the Court of Appeal in Mickelberg v 6PR Southern Cross Radio Pty Ltd & Anor [2002] WASCA 27).

Fabienne’s clients in defamation and media law have included high profile individuals, companies and corporate directors, local governments, sporting figures, academics and education institutions, health professionals, politicians and government officials.  She advises both claimants in defamation proceedings and those accused of defaming others.

Fabienne is experienced in providing pre-publication advice for all types of publications and bespoke opinions on defamation or other issues impacting personal or corporate reputation.

In addition to her expertise in defamation and media law, Fabienne is an experienced litigator with broad ranging experience in the Federal Court of Australia and all Western Australian jurisdictions.  Her litigation experience extends to civil and commercial litigation, including contractual disputes, misleading and deceptive conduct claims, tortious claims (including for trespass, bailment, conversion and detinue) and claims in equity.

Fabienne acts for both private and corporate clients drawn from a range of industries. She prides herself on her ability to communicate complex issues effectively to clients of all backgrounds and experiences, and her ability to actively seek outcomes bespoke to her clients’ needs in the most cost effective manner possible.
