Our history

In 2011, Martin Bennett recognised the need for a higher level of litigation expertise in the Western Australian market

Determined to address this shortfall, he assembled a highly motivated and formidable team to form a specialised, independent litigation firm,
Bennett + Co.

In July 2022, Bennett + Co became Bennett, reflecting what the market already recognised, that we are a unified, high performing team.

Since its foundation, Bennett has been at the forefront of Western Australia’s legal landscape, acting for prominent companies and business leaders in high profile cases.

The firm has grown to become one of the state’s top litigation and dispute resolution firms complemented by market leading intellectual property and commercial practices. Today, Bennett has a large team, with the capability and experience to relentlessly pursue the best outcomes for clients in litigation, intellectual property, and commercial matters of any size or complexity.

In response to growing client demand and the firm’s expanding national footprint, Bennett established a presence in South Australia, including engagement with the Lot Fourteen Defence Landing Pad ecosystem in Adelaide. This presence strengthens our ability to support clients across jurisdictions and connects the firm into one of Australia’s most significant innovation and defence precincts.
