The opportunity
Bennett is currently looking for a full time legal secretary to join our growing team. Working amongst a collaborative and supportive team of 10 highly skilled legal secretaries, you will find yourself working on complex litigation and commercial matters, often with tight deadlines, for a group of 4-5 legal practitioners. This position requires a high level of responsibility and your day-to-day tasks will include, but not be limited to:
- File administration management – including opening/closing files, assisting with the preparation of billing guides and general filing (both electronic and hard copy);
- Dictation and document preparation/amendment;
- Lodgment of Court documents through various online Court portals;
- Conducting searches through InfoTrack and Landgate;
- Diary and email management;
- Liaising with clients on behalf of your fee earners;
- Assistance with administrative tasks; and
- Assist the other secretaries in the team as required.
What you need to do
To be successful in your application for this position you will:
- have a minimum of 5-years’ experience working in a similar role within litigation and/or commercial law;
- have a sound understanding of legal and Court document preparation and processes across all jurisdictions;
- have a demonstrated ability working in a fast-paced environment with exceptional time management skills;
- have a high level of attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality;
- have excellent written and oral communication skills;
- have advanced Microsoft Office 365 skills; and
- be an engaged team player who enjoys a challenge.
