Aparna Jayasekera

Aparna is a Senior Associate in the Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution section of the firm.

Aparna has broad experience in litigation across a variety of Federal and Western Australian jurisdictions.  She has experience in advising and acting for a diverse range of clients in investigations, complex contractual and trust disputes, claims under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) and the Australian Consumer Law, claims in tort, and insider trading prosecutions. She has acted for ASX-listed entities, private companies (including Indigenous corporations), individuals and Traditional Owner groups.

Prior to joining Bennett, Aparna worked at Corrs Chambers Westgarth and acted on a range of commercial litigation matters, including as a Solicitor Assisting the Perth Casino Royal Commission. She was previously a Judge’s Associate at the Federal Court of Australia.

Aparna is a committee member of the Law Society of Western Australia’s Indigenous Legal Issues Committee. She also contributes to the Piddington Society’s Practical Legal Training course as a Civil Litigation course mentor.
