Andrew Filing

Andrew is a Solicitor in Bennett’s Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution section.

Andrew graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Business Law and Political Science & International Relations) in 2019, and with a Juris Doctor in 2022. He joined Bennett as a Research Clerk in 2021 which provided him with experience across a variety of different practice areas. Andrew has otherwise worked in a variety of firms and industries, as well the public sector in the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

Andrew was admitted to practice in October 2023 and works in the Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution team.

Andrew has experience as an instructing solicitor in trials, hearings and interlocutory disputes in the Supreme Court of Western Australia and in the Federal Court involving a variety of civil areas, including defamation and media law matters. Andrew has also appeared in a variety of civil jurisdictions.

Significantly, Andrew has acted on high profile defamation matters including Reynolds v Higgins and Reynolds v Sharaz.
