Dr. Vidagdha Bennett
Knowledge & Information Manager
Dr. Vidagdha Bennett has been the Knowledge & Information Manager at Bennett since the firm was founded by her brother Martin in 2011.
Vidagdha attended the University of Western Australia, obtaining her B.A. (first class with honours) and her M.A. in the field of English Literature. She then transferred to the University of Melbourne and obtained her Ph.D. in English Literature.
Her doctoral thesis (“Simplicity and Power: The Poetry of Sri Chinmoy 1971-1981”) was the pioneer academic thesis on this topic.
Prior to returning to Perth in 2008, she worked at an independent publishing house in New York for twenty years.
She is the author of a number of literary studies and biographical works, including “Themes and Imagery in the Spiritual Poems of Thomas Merton: 1944-1949”, “The Parity of Form and Subject in the Works of Jorge Luis Borges”, “Reverie” and “Under a Blue Pondicherry Sky”.
She also coordinates the Professional Development program for our solicitors, ensuring that they are compliant with the requirements of the Legal Practice Board. As part of this very active program, we have welcomed a wide range of expert presenters to the firm, including former members of the judiciary, senior counsel and barristers and legal academics, based locally and interstate.
