Sophie joined Bennett in 2024 and practices in Bennett’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution and Intellectual Property teams.
Sophie graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Law and Society, and Indigenous Studies) in 2018 and a Juris Doctor in 2021. Sophie was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Western Australia in March 2023.
Prior to joining Bennett, Sophie was an associate to Chief Justice Quinlan at the Supreme Court of Western Australia for two years, and has long been involved in First Nations justice.
Sophie works on a broad range of matters across the Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property and Pro Bono practices at Bennett. Sophie has experience advising clients on disputes arising in the Supreme Court of Western Australia, Federal Court of Australia and District Court of Western Australia.
In 2024, Sophie was recognised as the winner of the Law Society of Western Australia’s Emerging Lawyer of the Year award. This major award highlights her exceptional contributions to the legal profession and her continuing efforts in promoting reconciliation, culture, the rights of Aboriginal women and youth and her ongoing work to educate the community on the importance of an Aboriginal led Voice in decision making processes.
